GRAUS currently has 180 staff members who are dedicated to supporting its wide range of community development initiatives across the Bandarban district. This dynamic and diversified workforce includes individuals from various ethnic backgrounds, indigenous communities, and professional disciplines reflecting the rich cultural and social fabric of the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHTs).
To effectively reach and serve remote and hard-to-reach areas, GRAUS has strategically recruited staff from the local communities who are familiar with the terrain, culture, and languages of the region. This inclusive recruitment approach enables the organization to deliver community-based services more effectively and bridge communication gaps that often arise due to language and cultural barriers.
A significant portion of the workforce comprises indigenous professionals and community members who have been trained and empowered by GRAUS to take active roles in planning, implementing, and monitoring development activities. Their involvement not only enhances community ownership but also ensures that interventions are culturally appropriate and responsive to local needs.
Many staff members possess community-based technical knowledge in areas such as health, agriculture, WASH, education, and natural resource management. They are trained to provide hands-on support and guidance to local populations, ensuring the delivery of services that are context-specific, participatory, and sustainable.
By employing a workforce that is both technically skilled and deeply rooted in the local context, GRAUS enhances the accessibility, relevance, and long-term impact of its development interventions especially in the most underserved and marginalized communities of the CHTs.
