The “EMPOWERMENT” project, officially titled “Enhancing Marginalised People’s Opportunities With Equity, Rights, Mentorship, and Engagement for Nation-building and Transformation,” aims to amplify the voice, representation, and active participation of marginalised groups, including CSOs, CBOs, and indigenous communities in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT). The initiative addresses gaps in governance, gender equality, access to services, and policy advocacy. Through capacity building, strategic partnerships, and fostering inclusive governance, the project promotes transparency, rights-based approaches, and socio-economic resilience while directly benefiting 23,928 individuals and influencing an additional 103,070 people indirectly across the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHTs).
Increased voice, representation, recognition, and participation of CSOs, CBOs and marginalised groups in decision making, influencing, holding government to account, and seeking redress for violations.
Bandarban sadar upazila: Bandarban Sadar, Kuhalong, Rajbila, Suwalak and
Tankabati Unions.
Lama: Lama Sadar Upazila: Aziznagar, Faitang, Fasyakhali, Gajalia, Rupshipara
and Sarai Unions.
Naikhyongchari Upazila: Naikhyongchari Sadar, Baishari, Dochari and Ghumdum

The project beneficiaries are diverse, including lead and partner NGOs: CSOs, CBOs in marginalised communities including Women, Man, Youth, Adolescent, research/ think tanks, Media and youth journalists, development stakeholders and government officials
Increased outreach to and mobilisation of diverse citizens at all levels.
Expanded cooperation, partnerships, and networks among CSOs.
Increased interaction and dialogue between civil society entities, individual citizens, and GOB representatives towards more responsive and inclusive policies.
Increased capacities of civil society organisations and community leaders.
