PRLC Project Overview
The Partnership for Resilient Livelihoods in the CHT Region (PRLC) Project is an inclusive development initiative supported by the European Union and Manusher Jonno Foundation. Designed to enhance the resilience and well-being of marginalized communities, the project is implemented in Lama Upazila of Bandarban District. It aims to promote poverty reduction, sustainable income generation, and improved nutrition through livelihood development interventions. The project emphasizes inclusivity by engaging men, women, and transgender individuals from vulnerable and impoverished backgrounds, fostering equitable growth and social cohesion in the Chittagong Hill Tracts region.
the project supports two primary categories of beneficiaries: poor and ultra-poor. The breakdown includes 297 males, 2,775 females, and one transgender individual, totaling 3,073 beneficiaries.
4 unions in Lama upazila: Lama Sadar Union, Gajalia Union, Saroi Union, and Faitong Union. Altogether, covers 102 paras (villages), reaching a total of 3,037 households.
To contribute to poverty reduction and resilient livelihoods of extremely poor households in the three Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) districts of Bangladesh.
Sustained livelihoods and income generation amongst the target households in the CHT districts.
Improved and sustained nutrition practices for a better and healthy lifestyle for the extremely poor households in CHT region.
Increased investment of resources by local communities and the Government aimed at the most vulnerable regions and population segments in the CHT districts.
