GRAUS (Gram Unnayon Sangathon), a non-profit and non-political organization dedicated to rural socio-economic development, began its journey in 1998 with the vision of empowering the poor and marginalized. The organization strives to create a socio-economically sustainable society, free from discrimination and poverty, by enhancing access to Food Security, Maternal & Child Healthcare and Nutrition, Multi-lingual Education, Safe water, hygiene & sanitation, Climate resilience & Action, DRR & Humanitarian response, Gender Equity, Women & Youth Empowerment, and sustainable natural resource management.
Over the past 25 years, GRAUS has made significant strides in improving the lives of nearly 100,000 people across the three districts of the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) and has a dynamic and young people-led general board, and an executive board, who are well-experienced in implementing development programs. GRAUS has a dedicated team of 360 staff members who are sensitive to gender, ethnicity, and community needs. The organization also collaborates with GoB, LGIs and international partners, and several local organizations to implement its projects.
The organization operates a robust software-based financial and internal control system, ensuring transparency and efficiency in its operations, with a dedicated internal auditor. Additionally, GRAUS has implemented an online monitoring and reporting system that enhances program management and decision-making processes.
The organization continues to expand its operations and impact, guided by national policies and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while maintaining its commitment to gender equality and community-driven development.
